Ureteroureteric anastomosis

Ureteroureteric anastomosis also known as ureteroureterostomy (UU) refers to a surgical procedure where the anastomosis is performed on the end to end of the segments of the very same ureter along with performing excision of the defective or injured or scarred ureter. The indications for ureteroureterostomy are marked by injury in the ureter, treatment of short segment ureteral stricture, the middle and proximal ureter and treatment of retro-cavalureter.
