blog

Synovial membrane biopsy is performed either by a closed needle technique wherein a trocar is inserted into the joints and with the help of a tissue grabber piece of the synovial membrane, it is taken out, or this biopsy is also performed arthroscopically. The biopsy helps to diagnose the diseases concerned with joints like a fungal infection, gout, hemochromatosis, tuberculosis, synovial cancer autoimmune diseases, and rheumatoid arthritis.
