Surgery for Cystic Hygroma

Cystic hygromas are abnormal fluid-filled sacs caused by blockages in the lymphatic system. These usually appear on a baby’s neck or head. The most preferred modality of treating cystic hygroma remains a complete surgical excision. However, there are other modalities available, such as Sclerotherapy, simple drainage, aspirations, radiation, laser excision, radio-frequency ablation, and cauterization.
