Stereotactic Procedures- Biopsy/Aspiration of cyst

Stereotactic Procedure is a surgery where a 3-dimensional coordinate system based on pre-surgical imaging scans (a stereotactic frame) is used to remove a part of a cyst within the brain and drain fluid from the cyst. A computer system integrates pre-surgery images (MRI or CT) to provide a 3-D image of the brain which guides the surgeon to the exact location of the cyst to remove it for biopsy (for testing it in the lab) or drain fluid from it using a cannula or a probe.
