Radical prostatectomy-Laparoscopic/Open approach

Radical prostatectomy is explained as the surgical removal of the prostate and its neighboring tissues (seminal vesicles, lymph nodes, etc.) This surgical procedure is performed in a male patient who suffers from cancer, limited to the prostate gland. Radical prostatectomy is performed either through an open approach that involves a vertical 8 to 10-inch incision below the belly button or through laparoscopy that is achieved through several incisions across the belly.
