In children suffering from congenital pulmonary stenosis resulting in a narrowing of the pulmonary valve, leading to a laboured flow of blood from the right ventricle of the heart to the lungs. To correct the error in the pulmonary valve, the valve structure is corrected by the procedure of pulmonary valvotomy.
Right ventricular outflow tract resection
When the right ventricular outflow tract is blocked or obstructed, the lungs get a scanty amount of blood from the right ventricle to the lungs, resulting in poor oxygenation of the blood. The surgical correction method to remedy this condition is known as right ventricular outflow tract resection.
