Perineal Urethrostomy

This is a type of surgical procedure performed in males so as to form a permanent opening in the urethra via an incision made in the perineum covering. This surgery is performed when the patient has already undergone other surgeries to recover from urethral stricture without success. This is the last resort when it is established the urethral opening in the penis is irreparable. With the new opening, the male patient has to urinate in a sitting position as the hole is created in the perineum.
