Operations for Recurrent Intestinal Obstruction (Noble plication & other operations for adhesions)

Recurrent Intestinal Obstruction is often caused by adhesions (scars forming between intestinal loops, usually caused due to previous surgery). Noble plication refers to relieving and preventing adhesive intestinal obstruction by plicating loops of the small intestine in such a way that the position of the loops would be controlled, in order to minimize the obstructive effect of the adhesions. Other operations for adhesions include laparotomy to divide the adhesions.
