Nephrectomy (Laparoscopic/open approach)

Nephrectomy is a process of surgical removal of a kidney or an affected part of the kidney. Nephrectomy is usually performed to remove cancer affected renal cells or benign tumors. It is also performed to remove a healthy kidney from a donor, either living or deceased, for transplantation. The surgery of nephrectomy can be either done by a single incision in the abdomen which is an open approach or through various incisions in the abdomen and use of camera and other instruments which is known as laparoscopic approach.
