Microsurgical Excision Of Meningiomas

blog

Meningiomas refer to usually non-cancerous tumours arising from the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Microsurgical Excision Of Meningiomas aims at complete removal of meningiomas. In this procedure, the microsurgical technique is used to perform a craniotomy (removing a piece of bone from the skull to get access to the affected part of the brain). When a meningioma occurs near delicate structures in the brain or spinal cord, removing the entire tumour isn’t possible. In such cases, surgeons remove as much of the tumour as possible.
