Acoustic Tumour also called acoustic neuroma or vestibular schwannoma is a benign noncancerous tumour that develops on the main nerve from the inner ear to the brain. Microsurgical Excision Of Acoustic Tumour involves removal of a part of or the entire tumour. This has three approaches. The Translabyrinthine approach results in permanent hearing loss. In the Retrosigmoid/suboccipital approach and in Middle fossa approach the possibility of preserving the patient’s hearing ability remains.
