Meatoplasty

blog

Meatoplasty is performed when the opening at the end of the boy’s penis is too small, making it difficult for him to urinate, causes pain upon urinating, and thin, upward, or sideways-pointing urine stream. In meatoplasty, the urologist makes a small incision in the meatus to make the opening bigger. Absorbable stitches (stitches that dissolve on their own) are sutured around the bigger meatus that helps it stay bigger as it heals.
