Lipoma Excision

Lipoma Excision is a surgical procedure performed to treat Lipomas that are adipose tumours often located in the subcutaneous tissues of the head, neck, shoulders, and back. The surgeon draws an outline of the lipoma and a planned skin excision with a marker on the skin surface. After that, anaesthesia is administered and excision of some skin is performed to eliminate redundancy at closure. Dissection is then performed beneath the subcutaneous fat to access the tumour. Then the tumour is carefully removed avoiding the blood vessels and nerves that lie underneath the tumour.
