Laparoscopically Assisted vaginal hysterectomy

blog

Laparoscopically Assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) is a surgery where a laparoscope is used for guidance while the surgeon removes the uterus and/or ovaries and fallopian tubes, through the vagina i.e the birth canal. In this procedure, the surgeon makes several small cuts in the wall of the abdomen through which he inserts a laparoscope(a long, thin tube with a tiny camera) and other microsurgical instruments to perform a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) and if required removes fallopian tubes, ovaries, and uterus through vagina.
