Laparoscopic Gastric bypass operation

Laparoscopic Gastric bypass operation is a weight-loss surgery. In this procedure, 5-6 small cuts are made in the abdomen through which a small scope attached with a camera and surgical tools are inserted. The top part of the stomach is stapled to separate it from the bottom. This creates a small pouch of the stomach which restricts food intake. Then the jejunum is attached to the pouch so that food bypasses the duodenum, and food is routed directly from the pouch into the small intestine, leading to reduced calorie absorption.
