Inguinal Herniotomy

Inguinal Herniotomy is a surgery done for treating inguinal hernias and hydroceles in infants. Under general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia, the surgeon makes a small incision in the groin on the side of the hernia. The surgeon identifies and separates the hernia sac from the vas, and blood vessels to the testicles. The surgeon pushes back any hernia contents and divides the sac and ties it off. The wound is closed using dissolvable stitches.
