Image-guided radiotherapy

blog

Image-guided radiotherapy is used to improve the precision and accuracy of the radiation beam to treat tumors in areas of the body that move, such as lungs. Image-guided radiation therapy machines are equipped with advanced imaging technology that allows doctors to image the tumor before and during the treatment. By comparing these images, the patient’s position and/or the radiation beams are adjusted to more precisely target the radiation dose towards the tumor.
