Facial nerve Repair

blog

Microsurgical repair of the damaged facial nerve is the choice of treatment and most effective procedure performed to restore the motor function of the face. It is indicated in patients who experience transection of the nerve or acute disruption caused due to an accident, trauma, resection during extirpation of tumours, or inadvertent division during surgery. The procedure can be performed as long as there is viable muscle left to rescue in the paralysed part of the face.
