Excision of Cervical Lymph Node


Excision of Cervical Lymph Node or lymphadenectomy is the surgery done to remove one or more groups of lymph nodes for treating head and neck cancer. Excision of the lymph node may also be done for biopsy for diagnosing cancer. Lymphadenectomy surgery is done to confiscate lymph nodes. It is performed to find out whether the cancer has spread to a lymph node and to confiscate melanoma which has spread only to the lymph nodes and for preventing melanoma from spreading beyond.
