The intraocular pressure increase can give rise to glaucoma in the eye. The ciliary body present at the back of the cornea produces the ocular fluid, which when secreted in excess, can cause an increase of intraocular pressure. The ciliary body can be partially or completely destroyed by the use of heat generated through electric current. Cyclodiathermy is used to treat this condition, and it is also used to treat uncontrolled or refractory glaucoma
