Colon-Interposition or Replacement of Oesophagus

Colon-Interposition or more commonly known as the Replacement of Oesophagus is a surgical process of replacing a damaged or underdeveloped oesophagus (in case of children) or where a gastric conduit is unavailable (in the case of adults) with a section of the colon. The procedure involves studying closely and identifying the best section of the colon to interlink the remaining oesophagus and stomach.
