Chordee Correction

Chordee Correction refers to a surgery done to straighten the penis, to treat chordee (a condition causing the penis to be curved). This surgery is performed by a pediatric urologist, typically after the patient is 6 months old. Under local or general anesthesia, the surgeon uses techniques to make the length of the shorter and longer sides of the penis equal. This surgery involves the removal of tissue which is constricting the erection and lengthening of the urethra (in case it is short).
