Adenoidectomy is a surgical procedure conducted to remove adenoids that are lumps of tissue located at the back of the nose, specifically in the area where the nose joins the throat, and the adenoids are a part of the immune system. If not treated, these adenoids can develop infection and can lead to obstructed breathing. After administering anaesthesia, the adenoid tissue is removed through the mouth without the need for external incisions. Cauterization will be done to heal the tissue and this whole procedure takes not more than one hour.
